What is Dutagen 0.5?

Dutagen 0.5 is a medication used primarily for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), also known as an enlarged prostate, in men. The active ingredient, Dutasteride, works by inhibiting the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase, which is responsible for converting testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). By reducing DHT levels, Dutagen 0.5 helps shrink the prostate, improving urinary flow and reducing symptoms associated with BPH. It is also used in some cases for the treatment of male pattern baldness (androgenic alopecia).

How to Use Dutagen 0.5

• Dosage: The usual dose is one capsule (0.5 mg) once a day.

Contraindications
